Description: Portland, OR - The State of Oregon charged Lloyd Erp, age 58, with first-degree murder in conjunction with the death of his terminally ill wife, Lori Erp, in a botched murder suicide pact. Lori and Lloyd Erp signed a suicide note stating their reasons for wanting to die on March 2, 2013. Each suffered gun shot wounds to their heads that resulted in the death of Lori.
Outcome: Defendant was found not guilty in a second trial on the charge filed against him. The first trial resulted in a hung jury.
