Description: James L. Santelle, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, announced that Avery A. Gomeyosh, (age: 36), of Green Bay, Wisconsin, was sentenced on February 16, 2015, to 65 months of imprisonment, followed by a 10 year term of supervised release. The sentence was the result of a guilty plea by Gomeyosh on October 21, 2014, to a federal indictment charging him with the aggravated sexual abuse of an adult female who was at the time incapable of appraising the nature of the conduct and physically incapable of declining participation in that sexual act
The investigation revealed that on May 31, 2014, Gomeyosh sexually assaulted an adult female, who was asleep at the time of the assault, at a residence on the Menominee Indian Reservation. Law enforcement officials interviewed Gomeyosh and he admitted that he sexually assaulted the victim.
