Description: James J. Young, 21, of East St. Louis, Illinois, was sentenced today in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois to 37 months in prison and 3 years of supervised release on one count of Possession of a Weapon by a Felon. Evidence showed that Young was on parole and was living in public housing in East St. Louis with his mother. On May 1, 2014, during a parole compliance check, Young was found to be in possession of a Glock Model 27, .40 caliber pistol, loaded with 13 rounds. He had previously been convicted of Attempted Residential Burglary.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Illinois Department of Corrections Parole Office.
