Description: Los Angeles, California personal injury lawyers represented Plaintiffs who sued Defendants on negligent wrongful death theories.
The Family and Estate of Halyna Hutchins sued Alec Baldwin and the production company of "Rust" claiming that they failed to exercise due care in the handling and use of a firearm on the set when the movie "Rost" was being shot outside Santa Fe, New Mexico. Unbeknownst to Baldwin the single action colt was loaded with live ammunition.
Baldwin claimed that he did not pull the trigger on the weapons.
Single action colts have a reputation for firing if the hammer is inadvertently struck.
Outcome: Settled for an undisclosed sum.
