Description: Covington, St. Tammany Parish, LA - The State of Louisiana charged Joan Faye Hartman with the second-degree murder of Tanya Knower who died after being stabbed twice by Hartman on July 15, 2012 following an argument over Hartman's grandchildren.

The Defendant took the stand and admitted that she stabbed Knower who had lived with the Defendant and Hartman's son Richard, for eleven years with the two children.

Outcome: Defendant was convicted of manslaughter and faces 40 years in prison.
