Former South Carolina Alex Murdaugh, age 54, was charged with murdering his wife, Maggie, age 53,, and son, Paul, age 22, on June 7, 2021.

It is thought that Murdaugh killed his family in an effort to gain sympathy for himself to avoid responsibility of other wrongdoing.

The case will be based on circumstantial evidence.
