Christopher Ken Ireland, age 42, from Huntington Beach, California was charged with two counts of first-degree murder for killing two women after a New Year's Eve party while his wife and son waited for him outside. Yolanda Hotrey, age 59, and Michelle Luke, age 49, were killed on January 1, 2017. Defendant was also charged with arson for setting the house where the women were killed on fire.
Defendant claimed that the women attacked him first and that he used a meat clever to kill them.
Ireland testified that Holtrey caught him having sex with Luke.
Outcome: Defendant was found guilty on all charges and will be sentenced to life in prison with the possibility to parole.
