Case Style: State of North Dakota v. Justin Yabro
Case Number: 18-2012-CR-00132
Judge: Debbie Kleven
Court: District Court, Grand Forks County, North Dakota
Plaintiff's Attorney: Meredith Larson and Jason McCarthy
Defendant's Attorney: Kerry Rosenquist
Description: The State of North Dakota charged Justin Yabro, age 32, with sexually abusing his 7-year-old step-daughter.
The victim, now age 8, testified that Yarbro sexually abused her in several ways from April 2010, when she was 6, until October 12, 2011.
Defense counsel argued that the mother somehow got a 7-year-old girl to give detailed and consistent accounts of explicit sexual acts in language that a child, not an adult, would use, accounts that several experts testified were credible.
Outcome: Defendant was found guilty and faces up to life in prison.
