Description:

Family and Estate of Jeffrey Clark sued the Michigan Department of Corrections on a civil rights theory, 42 U.S.C. 1983, claiming that prison employees exhibited deliberate indifference toward Mr. Clark by failing to give him water or medical attention. Clark, a paranoid schizophrenic, was serving nine to 30 years after being convicted of robbing a liquor store with a beer bottle in 1987. The defenses asserted by Defendants are not available.
