In March 2021, the West Central Drug Task Force began investigating Richard Skramastad, age 60, as a suspected methamphetamine dealer in the Menomonie, Wisconsin area. Officers utilized a confidential informant to purchase approximately 52 grams of pure methamphetamine from him on April 13, 2021. In an interview following his arrest on May 13, 2021, Skramstad admitted to selling methamphetamine on multiple occasions.
The charge against Skramstad was the result of an investigation conducted by the West Central Drug Task Force, Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, and Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant U.S. Attorney Taylor L. Kraus prosecuted this case.
