Description: Cape Girardeau, Missouri criminal law lawyer represented Defendant charged with possession of child pornography.

Law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at Jonathan D. Drury’s residence in June 2021 after developing probable cause that he was obtaining videos containing child pornography over the internet. Drury’s cell phone was seized, which was found to contain numerous videos depicting young children being sexually abused. At his guilty plea hearing earlier this year, Drury, are 37, of Perryville, Missouri, admitted that he downloaded the videos from various websites.

After serving his 87-month sentence, Drury will be placed on supervised release for life. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Assistant United States Attorney Jack Koester handled the prosecution.

Outcome: Defendant was sentenced to 86 months in prison, followed by life term of supervised release and assessed $100.00.
