Description: Martinsburg, West Virginia criminal law lawyer represented Defendant charged with selling heroin and fentany.

Emmanuel Kwame , from Washington, DC, also known as “Donte West,” 41, pleaded guilty in May 2022 to one count of “Distribution of Heroin and Fentanyl Mixture.” West admitted to selling a mixture of fentanyl and heroin in March 2021 in Berkeley County.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the Martinsburg Police Department investigated.

Outcome: Defendant to be incarcerated for a term of 70 months to be served consecutive to sentence imposed for count 6; 3 years of Supervised Release to be served concurrent to SR in count 6; $100 Special Assessment Fee; forfeiture ordered.
