Mitchum Dupris, age 33, was indicted for Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child by a federal grand jury in December of 2021. He pleaded guilty on October 4, 2022.

Dupris had sexual contact with a minor child during a time when the child was at the residence of Dupris’ girlfriend.

This case was investigated by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay Miller prosecuted the case.

Dupris was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Outcome: Defendant was sentenced to eight years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. He was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Dupris will have to register as a sex offender.
