Juma Jones sued Chief of Police Scott Sansom, Deputy Chief of Police Mack Hawkins, and the Town of East Hartford for alleged employment discrimination in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e et seq.; 42 U.S.C. § 1983; and the Connecticut Fair Employment Practices Act (“CFEPA”), Conn. Gen. Stat. § 46a-60 et seq. Compl., ECF No. 1 (Mar. 30, 2021).

Outcome: For the following reasons, Mr. Jones's motion for summary judgment is DENIED.

Defendants' motion for summary judgment is GRANTED in part and DENIED in part.

Defendants' motion for summary judgment is granted as to the equal protection, due process, and Monell claims. Defendants' motion for summary judgment is denied as to the Title VII and CFEPA claims against the Town and the CFEPA aiding and abetting claims against Chief Sansom and Deputy Chief Hawkins.

Mr. Jones's motion to amend the Complaint is DENIED.
