The conviction of Myrickki McClendon, age 32, for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl was reversed by the Arkansas Court of Appeals as a result of prejudicial error on the part of the trail judge who refused to allow Defense County to adequately inquire about statements made by victim of the alleged crime that she had lied.

A second trail on the merits resulted in a mistrial as a result of prosecutorial misconduct.

DNA testing proved to be inclusive.

Outcome: Charges were dismissed under Arkansas's speedy trial rules on October 30, 2018.
