Description: The Montanta Department of Transportation sought to acquire part of the front of a proptery owned by John Stokes d/b/a KGEZ-AM for the improvement of U.S. Highway 93 south of Kalispell. The State offered Stokes $100,000 for the property taken and for damages to the remainder.

Stokes claimed that $100,000 was not enough compensation for the damages caused by the takeing.

Outcome: Settled for $400,000.00.
