Additional Information: FRANK A. MAY is a 1970 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. After working as an engineer for two years, he attended the University of Connecticut School of Law where he received his J.D. degree in 1975, with high honors. Since that time he has been involved as an associate and then as a partner in the firm of Montstream & May, L.L.P. handling the defense of all types of insurance claims and issues, employment related disability/discrimination claims and workers' compensation. Mr. May has been active in both state and national organizations related to workers' compensation, insurance coverage and insurance defense generally. He has lectured and published articles on various topics within these practice areas over the years. Mr. May has tried cases and argued appeals before all levels of the State and Federal Courts within the State of Connecticut and the Second Circuit. He is a Board Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Workers’ Compensation Certification (the entity responsible for evaluating, testing and certifying attorneys as specialists in Workers’ Compensation). He is a member of the Legal Advisory Panel to the Chairman of the Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission and the Professional Ethics Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association. He is a founding member of the Executive Committee of the Workers Compensation Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, a member of the Litigation, Workers’ Compensation and Labor and Employment Sections; and was recently appointed to the new Appellate Practice Committee. He is a long-time member of the Torts/Insurance Practice and Litigation (Insurance Coverage Committee) Sections of the American Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute (Insurance Law, Employment Law and Workers’ Compensation Committees). He is individually rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell.
