Additional Information: Deborah Poore FitzGerald practices primarily in the areas of insurance defense, general civil litigation and professional malpractice defense litigation, including lawyers and accountants. She received her law degree from the University of Kentucky School of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court National Team. Deborah graduated with highest honors from Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. While at MSU, she served on the Board of Regents as its Student Representative. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi honorary fraternity and Chi Omega sorority.

Deborah is admitted to practice in Florida and Kentucky. She is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida (including the Trial Bar). She is also a State of Florida certified arbitrator and has presided over twenty-five arbitration proceedings in Broward County Circuit and County Court matters.

Deborah is currently a member of the Broward County Bar Association where she serves on the Board of Directors (1997-2005; 2006-present) (Library Committee; Finance/Audit Committee); the Federal Bar Association (Board of Directors, 1985-2007; President, 1991-1992); American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) (Treasurer, 2007; Secretary, 2008) and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association. She previously served on The Florida Bar Grievance Committee, 17th Judicial Circuit, Committee “C” (Vice-Chair, 1998-2000). She was recently reappointed to the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Court Annexed Mediation for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida by Chief Judge Federico Moreno (2007-2010). She has served on this Committee since its inception in 2000.

Deborah has also authored a chapter entitled, “Motion for Attorneys’ Fees and Costs,” in The Defense Manual, published by the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (2006). She has an AV-rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
