The was charged with the continuous sexual abuse of a child, J.W.
J.W.’s mother Kirsten met appellant in 2015 when she and J.W. lived in Missouri.
Kirsten and appellant started dating and eventually had a son together. In 2019,

when J.W. was twelve years’ old, Kirsten and her two children moved to Collin
County, Texas. Appellant joined them a short time later.
J.W., age 17 at trial, testified appellant sexually abused her from the time she
was age 9 or 10 until she was age 13. The abuse began in Missouri and continued
after the move to Texas. For example, during a three-month period when appellant
lived with J.W. and her mother in McKinney, appellant inserted his penis into J.W.’s
vagina four or five times and also put his penis in her mouth. Appellant and Kirsten
eventually stopped dating, and Kirsten learned of the sexual abuse after seeing text
messages between appellant and J.W. She contacted the police.
Outcome:
The Defendant was found guilty and was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
