Wilmington, DE - The State of Delaware charged Jeffrey Phillips with first-degree capital murder in conjunction with the murder of Herman Curry, age 47, the manslaughter of 16-year-old Alexander Kamara, Jr. gang participation, conspiracy and other felonies.



Defendant, Otis Phillips, age 38, and Sheldon Ogle were all involved in exchange of gun fire at a Wilmington park. Ogle was was also killed in the exchange.



The State argued that the death penalty was appropriate for Phillips based on his participation in deaths and his involvement in the Sure Shots street gang.
Outcome:
Defendant was found guilty on multiple charges and will be sentenced to life in prison.
