Description: White Plains, NY - The State of New York charged Lacy Spears, age 27, with second-degree murder as a result of the death of her five year old son Garnett-Paul Spears which it claimed died as a result of being given fatal doses of salt (sodium) via a feeding tube.

Defense counsel asserted that there was no evidence of a crime and asserted that Spears was a loving and caring mother of a very sick child.

Outcome: Defendant was found guilty.
