Upon returning to Texas, Ms. Rogers received her J.D. in 1993 from the University of Houston Law Center, where she was Articles Editor for the Houston Journal of International Law and a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Following law school, Ms. Rogers served as briefing attorney for Justice Alma L. López on the Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio, Texas. Ms. Rogers later served as a staff attorney for Justice Karen A. Angelini, also at the Fourth Court. Ms. Rogers' background further includes an internship in the civil rights division of the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. Ms. Rogers focuses her practice on appellate law. She has prosecuted and defended appeals and mandamus proceedings in the Fourth and Thirteenth Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Texas, as well as in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Ms. Rogers was previously associated with Edwards, Terry, Baiamonte & Edwards in Corpus Christi, as well as with McClanahan & Clearman in Houston. She has served as a former president and spokesperson for the Houston School for Deaf Children Alumni Association.
