In October 2007, I received the President's Award by the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association in recognition of my success in the legal profession.
In December 2007, The Robert Redford Center at Sundance Preserve produced a film called Fighting Goliath: Texas Coal Wars.The film is a documentary about the Texas Cities' opposition to the permitting of new coal plants.I was on the legal team representing the Texas Cities.I am also in the film, playing myself, as a member of the legal team.Susman Godfrey also received the National Law Journal's Pro Bono Award for its pro bono representation of the Texas Cities in this litigation.
In 2009, I was selected to be a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honorary society. My membership was based on my excellence in advocacy and effectiveness and accomplishments in the courtroom.
In 2006 and 2008, I was selected for Best Lawyers in America ® in the area of commercial litigation.
In 2005, I was named one of the "Top 50 Women Lawyers" in Texas.Each year since its creation in 2003, I have been selected as a Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly magazine.
In 1993, the Dallas Business Journal selected me for their "40 Under 40 Award" a recognition of young business leaders.
In addition to my law practice, in 2005, I was appointed to the 7 member Board of Managers of Parkland Hospital.In 2004, I was appointed to the Texas Equal Access to Justice Commission.In 2003, I was elected to the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Texas, where I served on the Executive Committee.In addition, I have served as a director or chair of various other civic and professional organizations.
