Additional Information: Mr. Zappa is a graduate of University of Delaware (B.A. 1970) and the Washington College of Law at the American University in Washington, D.C. (J.D. 1973) where he was an editor of the American University Law Review. Upon graduation, he served a judicial clerkship for the Delaware Superior and Chancery Courts. Mr. Zappa is a partner in the law firm of Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Delaware State Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, Delaware Trial Lawyers Association and the American Board of Trial Advocates of which he is a past president. Mr. Zappa is a member of the Superior Court Civil Rules Committee and the Delaware Bar Association's Committee on Standard Jury Instructions.

Mr. Zappa has been representing clients in personal injury and wrongful death cases since 1974. He has been involved in hundreds of personal injury litigations, including those involving persons injured or killed in vehicular collision, maritime and construction accidents, while using defective and unsafe equipment, machinery and products, from toxic exposures, and as a result of hospital and physician negligence.

Mr. Zappa has tried numerous cases in the Delaware Superior Court and the Federal District Court, receiving many favorable verdicts and substantial awards of damages for his clients. Mr. Zappa has been involved in 15 cases in which his clients. recoveries have been in excess of $1,000,000, ranging between $1,100,000 and $16,500,000.

Mr. Zappa was recognized by his peers as the top personal injury lawyer in Delaware in a survey conducted by Delaware Today Magazine in 1996 and one of the top medical malpractice lawyers in a similar survey conducted in 2001. Mr. Zappa believes that his success is due in large part to working harder than his adversary, engaging the very best experts to testify at trial, and treating each client's case as though it is his only case.
