Outcome: Plaintiff's verdict. Spokane County would have to pay 10%, or nearly $3 million, while Spokane County Jail healthcare provider NaphCare would have to pay 90% or $24 million to Hill's estate. The total awarded amount to Hill's estate is nearly $27 million.
