Chicago, Illinois criminal defense lawyer represented the Defendant charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Jason Ortega stabbed Anton Patterson on on Dec. 31, 2022, and was recorded on cell phone video by witnesses. The 28-year-old Ostrego can be heard on the recording calling Patterson derogatory racial names, including the n-word. Prosecutors charged him with attempted murder and armed violence. They said this was also a hate crime.
Outcome: Defendant was sentenced to 19 years in prison.
