Description:

Tulsa, Oklahoma civil rights lawyers represented the plaintiff sued on a civil right violation theory claiming excessive us of force.

The case stemmed from an encounter on Aug. 8, 2020, when officers responded to a report of a man trying to scale the fence of a secure transitional living facility near Apache Street and Harvard Avenue.

The officer found Jonathan Randell brandishing a knife and cutting himself. A crisis intervention team unsuccessfully tried to keep a communications channel open and defuse the situation.

Randell was shot with on pepperball and he became aggressive.

Eight officers fired more than 60 rounds at Randell killing him.
