New York City, New York personal injury car wreck lawyer represented the Plaintiff.

New York car accident laws include:

Insurance
New York is a no-fault insurance state, so each driver's insurance company pays for medical expenses and lost wages, regardless of fault. However, no-fault insurance doesn't cover auto repair or damage to other property.

Liability
New York's minimum liability insurance requirements are:

$25,000 for injuries to one person

$50,000 for injuries to multiple people
$50,000 for death of one person
$100,000 for death of multiple people
$10,000 for property damage

Uninsured motorist
Uninsured motorist coverage must be at least as much as the minimum bodily injury liability insurance limits.
Scene of the accident
You must stop at the scene of an accident, regardless of the damage. You must exchange information with other drivers and the police, and file a Report of Motor Vehicle Accident (MV-104) with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Penalties
Leaving the scene of an accident that causes injury or death is a criminal violation, and you could face up to a year in prison.
Claims
You must submit claims for lost earnings and other expenses within 90 days of incurring them.

09/19/2024 26 ORDER: IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT all previously scheduled conferences and other deadlines are CANCELLED.
