Description: Stephanie Adams, age 41, sued the City of New York claiming that she sustained permanent debilitating injuries in a scuffle in 2006 with police based on a taxi driver's false accusation that she was armed and dangerous. She claimed that she was thrown to the ground at gunpoint after she got into an argument with the cabbie. She claimed that the cabbie refused to help carry her bags into her apartment and called 911 and falsely told police she had a gun and was going to shoot him. She ex-Playboy playmate claimed to have sustained neck and back injuries from the rough treatment.
Outcome: Plaintiff's verdict for $1.2 million.
