Description: West Palm Beach, FL - Jury Convicts Doctor of Running A Pill Mil

The State of Florida charged Dr. Richard McMillan, age 45, with racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering and nine counts of trafficking in oxycodone.

McMillan and Pasquale Gervasion ran Total Medical Express clinics in Boca Raton, Palm Springs and Margate before being arrested in 2011.

The State claimed that the clinics sold more than 2 million 30 mg oxycodone pills to customers of the clinics. The pills were sold for $5 or $6 each and were dispensed from an in-house pharmacy.

Gervasio, age 40, pled guilty and testified against McMillan. He was sentenced to 10-years and now lives in New Jersey.

Outcome: Defendant was found guilty and will likely be sentence to what amounts of life in prison.
