Description: Denver, CO - Jury Finds Man Guilty of 2007 Murder of Mother of Three
The States of Colorado charged Lester Ralph Jones, age 65, with the kidnapping and first-degree murder of Paige Birgfeld, age 34. The State alleged that Jones killed Birgfeld in 2007 then set her car on fire and dumped her body. Her remains were found by a hiker in the Wells Gulch in Delta County in 2012. Birgfeld led a double life as a paid escort and Jones frequently solicited prostitutes and patronized Birgfeld's business before her disappearance.
Outcome: Jones was sentenced to life in prison without parole for first- and second-degree murder and was sentenced to 12 years in prison with three years of parole for second-degree kidnapping.
