Kirk and Morgan Grantham, the parents of Katie Gratham, sued Shane DeMoss and Stuart Petroleum Testers on auto negligence theories claiming that DeMoss failed to exercise due care in the operation of the F-250 truck owned by Stuart Petroleum Testers on November 19, 2017, when Katie (Katie Bug) was killed when DeMoss ran a red light.

DeMoss refused to take a sobriety test.

Stuart admitted liability.

Outcome: Plaintiffs' verdict for more than $409 million. The jury found Stuart Petroleum Testers 90% at fault and Shane DeMoss 10% at fault.
