Description: Pontiac, MI - The State of Michigan charged Ruth Pozdol, age 39, with felony murder for the death of 76-yearold Clifford Van Haywald who was run over and killed during a carjacking in a Burger King parking lot in January of 2015.
Pozfol testified that she did not intend to hurt Haywald, she just wanted to take his truck.
Haywald died from massive injuries after he was hit by his own truck while attempting to stop Pozdol.
She fold the truck for $200 in Detroit and used the money to buy heroin.
She had walked away from a drug rehab center earlier in the day and testified that she was desperate for a fix and needed to go to Detroit to buy heroin.
Outcome: Defendant was found guilty of felony murder.
