Description: Twin South Carolina sisters sued the Medical University of South Carolina on defamation theories claiming that they were wrongfully accused of "academic dishonest" in May 2016 after test proctors reviewed the results of an examine the sisters took and on which the got remarkably similar scores.
The sisters' identical answers to 296 of 307 questions, including 54 wrong answers, raised alarm bells among university officials, who launched an investigation into the twins' performance.
Outcome: Plaintiffs' verdict for $1.5 million.
