Description: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania criminal defense lawyer represented Defendant charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
In and around March 2020 and continuing until May 2020, Joshua McKenzie, age 38, conspired to possess with intent to distribute and distributed fentanyl. In addition, McKenzie, a previously convicted felon, did knowingly possess a firearm in furtherance of this drug trafficking crime.
Assistant United States Attorney Michael L. Mitchell prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
Acting United States Attorney Rivetti commended the Butler County District Attorney’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for conducting the investigation that led to the prosecution of McKenzie.
Outcome: Defendant was sentenced to eight years of incarceration and three years of supervised release.
