Description: Cheyenne, Wyoming criminal defense lawyer represented Defendant charged with being a felony in possession of a firearm.

On October 10, 2022, Michael Langley, age 26, from Cheyenne, was a passenger in a vehicle and fired several shots from a semiautomatic pistol at another vehicle while traveling through Cheyenne. At the time, Langley was a convicted felon who was prohibited from possessing a firearm. Langley pled guilty to unlawfully possessing the pistol, which had an obliterated serial number.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Cheyenne Police Department investigated the crime. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan C. Coppom prosecuted the case.

Outcome: Defendant was sentenced to 51 months in prison.
