Description: New York City, New York personal injury lawyers represented Plaintiff, who sued Defendants on civil rights violation theories under 42 U.S.C. 1983.

Johnny Hincapie was charged and convicted of first-degree murder for his alleged role in the stabbing death of Brian Watkins, age 22, in September of 1990. The only problem was, Mr. Hincapie had nothing to do with the crime and had witnesses to prove that he was not near where Mr. Wakins was killed.

Mr. Hincapie spent 25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit.

Outcome: Settled for $18 million.
