Jonathan Gardner was charged with sexually assaulting a woman while on duty as a Lawrence Kansas Police Department officer on January 1, 2017.
Defendant picked up an underage woman in the early morning hour of New Year's day and ultimately delivered her to a house near 27th and Iowa Street, after stopping for 12 minutes near Kasold Drive and Peterson Road.
The woman reported later that day that Defendant had "fingered" her while she was in the passenger seat of the patrol car he was driving.
Defendant had turned off the camera and microphone in his car.
Gardner testified on his own behalf.
The case was prosecuted by Joshua David Seiden and Suzanne Valdez.
