Description: South Bend, Indiana criminal law lawyer represented Defendant charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

In February 2022, Frank Willis, age 57, of Mishawaka, Indiana, was found to be in possession of a firearm. Willis’ criminal history revealed he has four prior felony convictions, and therefore is prohibited from possessing the firearm.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with the assistance of the St. Joseph County Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Frank E. Schaffer.

Outcome: Defendant was sentenced to 46 month in prison, followed by two years of supervised release.
