Jeremy Richards, age 29, was indicted by a federal grand jury in August of 2022. He pleaded guilty on February 27, 2023.
Defendant's conviction stemmed from conduct that occurred between January 1, 2021, and January 1, 2022, in Todd County, South Dakota, wherein Richards distributed methamphetamine to a juvenile who was between 16 and 17 years old.
This case was investigated by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force and the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk Albertson prosecuted the case.
Richards was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
