Description: Wichita Falls, Texas criminal law lawyer represented Defendant charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled drugs in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846, which provides:

(a) Unlawful acts

Except as authorized by this subchapter, it shall be unlawful for any person knowingly or intentionally—

(1) to manufacture, distribute, or dispense, or possess with intent to manufacture, distribute, or dispense, a controlled substance; or

(2) to create, distribute, or dispense, or possess with intent to distribute or dispense, a counterfeit substance.

Outcome: Pursuant to the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984, as amended, it is the judgment of the Court that the defendant, Matthew Bryant Gibson, in 7:20-CR-00047-O(01), is hereby committed to the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons for a period of SIX (6) MONTHS. This sentence shall run consecutively to any future sentence which may be imposed under Case No. 19CR27672, pending in the Jackson County Circuit Court in Medford, Oregon. The Court did not order a fine because the defendant does not have the financial resources or future earning capacity to pay a fine.It is further ordered that the defendant pay a special assessment of $100. Supervised Release is Ordered for a term of TWO (2) years. The Defendant is ordered to voluntarily surrender to the designated BOP facility before 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
