Description: Tulsa, Oklahoma criminal defense lawyer represented defendant charged with manslaughter for stabbing T'Challa Davis to death on October 25, 2019.

Defendant Christian Douglas Cook, age 22, stabbed Davis with a large knife, with whom, he had been fighting inside a Taco Bell restaurant.

Cook claimed that the District Court lack jurisdiction to preside over the charged that was made against him because of the McGirt decision. He also asserted self defendant and Stand Your Ground as defenses. He claimed Davis had threatened him and then punched him, grabbed him by the throat and kneed him in the face.tHE

Outcome: The jury was out for 4.5 hours before returning a not guilty verdict.
