Additional Information: Melissa Sullivan is a member of Robinson & Cole's Litigation Section in the Stamford office. She is a member of the firm's Products Liability and Subrogation Practice Group as well as its Commercial Litigation Group. Ms. Sullivan’s litigation experience focuses primarily on large loss property subrogation, products liability defense, and commercial litigation. Ms. Sullivan has pursued and defended against a wide range of claims arising out of casualties such as fires, explosions, and sprinkler and other equipment failures. She has pursued these claims both in subrogation on behalf of insurers and also on behalf of companies who have sustained direct losses. Ms. Sullivan's products liability experience stems from her defense of product manufacturers and component part manufacturers. She has litigated cases involving wrongful death and serious personal injuries arising out of claims brought pursuant to products liability law, negligence, failure to warn, and the Uniform Commercial Code. Her commercial litigation experience stems from her representation of large and small companies engaged in a variety of business disputes, including claims of business torts, commercial contract disputes, employment issues, class actions, antitrust, and unfair trade practices, as well as disputes between manufacturers, vendors, and distributors. Ms. Sullivan is an active member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals; she has presented at its national convention and has written for its publication, Subrogator. Ms. Sullivan is also a member of the Raymond E. Baldwin Inn of Court and has served as an Executive Committee member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Connecticut Bar Association as cochair of its Litigation Committee. Ms. Sullivan’s community service includes tutoring for the Literacy Volunteers of America and acting as a firm liaison to the Community Service Committee of the Fairfield County Bar Association. Ms. Sullivan received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where she was a Dean Scholar. While attending law school, she was an associate editor of the Quinnipiac University Law Review as well as a judicial intern for United States Magistrate Judge Holly B. Fitzsimmons. She received her B.A. in journalism from New York University. Ms. Sullivan is admitted to practice in the state courts of Connecticut and New York as well as the District of Columbia, the United States District Court of Connecticut, the Southern District of New York, and the Eastern District of New York.
