Certified Folder Display Service, Inc. - Arlington, TX Certified Folder Display Service, Inc. rack brochure distribution origins date back to 1899 in San Francisco, California. Originally known as "The Peck-Judah Company", the company maintained towering oak visitor information brochure racks in the leading hotels and chambers of commerce. In 1962, The Peck-Judah Company sold their rack brochure distribution service division to their Division Director, John W. Fearn. Mr. Fearn named the new company "Certified Folder Service". Certified was headquartered in San Francisco for many more years, and later moved to San Rafael, California. Mr. Fearn selected a unique logo for Certified - our logo is derived from the International Code of Signals semaphore meaning "Stop, I have a message for you!" This has been a very appropriate logo for Certified, as our rack brochure distribution and brochure display racks serve as "visitor information centers" for the traveling public with helpful information on activities and attractions in the local area and region. The company's name later was expanded to the current "Certified Folder Display Service, Inc.", and the headquarters were moved to San Diego, California in the early 70's. The company's corporate offices are now located in Vista, California. |

Railroad Museum of Oklahoma - Enid, OK One of the largest collections of railroad material in the United States. Exhibits include over 900 pieces of dining car china and silver service from passenger trains of the past, maps depicting various railroad lines, railroad paintings, depot clocks, steam engine bells, locks, keys, and a functioning telegraph system. A giant O-scale layout featuring a circus train and related equipment is a popular attraction for young and old alike. Our model railroad room includes HO-gauge, N-gauge and Lionel layouts. Nine cabooses are on display from different railroads that have served Enid, along with motor cars, a boxcar, a 3 dome tank car, a Frisco 1519 Steam Engine, an Amtrak lounge car, traveling post office car, car krane, and a 50 ton G.E. switcher locomotive that is still being used to move the rolling stock around on the museum tracks. A reference library of books, photos, videotapes, railroad money, postcards of depots all over the US, and much more is also on site. Suggested donation of $2 per person is appreciated. We welcome bus tours and can arrange catered dinners for up to 100 people. Two excursion trains are offered twice a year (call for dates and reservations). |

City of Tulsa - Tulsa, OK Born in Tulsa to a military family, Maria traveled throughout the United States until 1982, when she returned to Tulsa to care for an ailing family member. Maria Barnes has volunteered for many and varied committees and boards over the past 15 years. She also held several posts with Neighborhood Associations. Barnes worked hard to help generate the 1988 Kendall-Whittier Master Plan which has grown the area to its present development. She has even received the City of Tulsa Picket Fence Award for neighborhood volunteers.
Barnes has also worked on the Human Rights Commission since 2000, the Police Community Relations Committee, the Police Oversight Committee, and graduated from the Citizens Police Academy. As for service to help the entire City of Tulsa, she was a member of the Tulsa Infill Study Task Force, the 2005 Tulsa Public Schools Citizens Bond Committee and was a recent member of the Vision 2025 Tulsa Neighborhood Fund Task Force. Her current “occupation” outside of the Council is wife (for 20 years to Tulsan, James Barnes), mother and neighborhood advocate. |
